NEW VENDING MACHINES ROLLED OUT AT THE HIGH SCHOOL
The Food and Nutrition Services Department unveiled two new vending machines at each high school in Fairfield.  The machines will provide food throughout the day, except for a fifteen minute period between 1:45pm and 2:00pm for routine recalibration.  They are located in the cafeterias and can be accessed throughout the day and after school.
The machines feature six rows of products.  Two rows are devoted to items prepared by the school cafeteria managers, such as salads, wraps, and sandwiches. Included in these offerings are a box of raisins or a bag of baby carrots. One row has snack foods, such as reduced-fat Doritos, reduced-fat Cheetos, Baked Lays, and Stacy’s Pita Chips.  Another row has snack and cereal bars, such as Rice Krispie treats, Snackwells cookies, Cocopuff cereal bars, whole grain Pop Tarts, Cinnamon Toast Crunch bars, Nutrigrain bars, and Fruity Cheerios cereal bars.  A row of juices, four milk options, and six water options are also available.  Items change regularly and new products may be featured.
The items can be purchased with the students’ Meal-Pay Plus card and the items bought are tracked as with the regular school lunch.  Cash can also be used.
